Drummer Will Lone returns to the valley with Seattle-based musicians Martin Budde (guitar), Dylan Hayes (piano) and Julian Weisman (bass) to present a weekend of jazz in the Methow Valley.

Saturday, February 22nd Doors Open at 6:30 Concert at 7pm the quartet will perform their own original compositions, showcasing varied styles of jazz and improvised music. Come see modern jazz performed by some of Seattle's top up-and-coming talent.
Sunday, February 23rd 1-3 pm the band hosts an open jam session. Bring your instrument and come jam! This will be an informal session — just show up with a tune or two that you'd like to play.

  • Dylan Hayes is a top called jazz pianist, composer and arranger originally from San Francisco and currently resides in Seattle, WA. He is 27 years old and began playing piano at age 7. After attending Marin School of the Arts for high school, he continued his studies at Cornish College of the Arts, from which he graduated from in 2019, and was able to study piano with Dawn Clement and Jovino Santos Neto as well as arranging with Jim Knapp. While attending Cornish, Jim Knapp handed over the Jim Knapp Orchestra book to Dylan Hayes and local legend Jay Thomas.
  • Martin Budde is guitarist and composer/educator based in Seattle WA. Growing up playing with family from a young age, Martin has established himself over time as a top call guitarist and composer in the Seattle area and west coast and internationally. He co-founded Seattle/New York based contemporary Jazz group “Meridian Odyssey” who’s first release “Second Wave” was voted as on of the top 15 Seattle records of 2020 and second full length album “Earthshine” was voted as best NW recording of the year by earshot Jazz, both released on Origin records. Martin’s solo record “Aperture” was selected as one of Alaska’s best releases of 2020 by the Anchorage Daily News. His most recent record “Back Burner” was released in 2023 on Origin Records. Martin’s music is dynamic and grounded, with a strong melodic voice that speaks to undercurrents of American Music as a whole, and at the same time seeks to dive into unknowns.
  • Julian Weisman is a bassist, luthier and composer based out of Seattle, WA. He studied at the New England Conservatory in Boston and later went on to work on sailboats. His passion for music and woodworking led him to his career as a luthier. Julian plays in a wide range of groups in Seattle and worldwide from afro Cuban to free improvisation. His debut album, Hemispheres, is an example of his collaboration he enjoys with musicians worldwide. He is excited to travel and meet the world on his musical journey.
  • Will Lone is a Seattle-based drummer and improvising artist who has been immersed extensively in music since 1998, cultivating a multi-dimensional and melodic style of drum set playing. He has performed in Seattle and around the world with numerous groups of different styles, including with acclaimed musicians David Haney, Rob Scheps, Nathan Breedlove, Jim O’Connor, Tom Varner, and many others, as well as with Gamelan Pacifica, one of the finest ensembles devoted to the performance of music for Javanese gamelan in the U.S.
